书包 = beg sekolah
school bag = beg sekolah
We need to carry books to school, so a school bag is a must for schooling and counts as a need (keperluan). It is not a want and not a donation.
Example: a pencil case and exercise books are school needs too.
Watch out: the question is about a school bag itself, not a branded one; the brand would be the want.
Aiskrim selepas makan malam ialah …

ice cream = aiskrim
Dinner has already filled you up; ice cream is something you want but can do without, so it is a want (kehendak). Dinner itself is the need.
Example: sweets or fizzy drinks after a meal are wants too.
Watch out: tasty does not mean needed.
Kasut sekolah yang sudah koyak perlu diganti. Kasut baharu itu ialah …

torn school shoes = kasut sekolah koyak
The old shoes are torn and cannot be worn to school, so a new pair is a need (keperluan). It is not about wanting a new style; it is that you cannot do without shoes.
Example: replacing a school uniform that has become too small is a need too.
Watch out: buying new shoes while the old ones are still fine would be a want.
Permainan video terbaharu ialah …

video game = permainan video
The newest video game is fun, but we can live healthily and study well without it, so it is a want (kehendak).
Example: a new phone game or a toy car is a want too.
Watch out: wants are considered only after all the needs are paid for.
Ubat yang diberi doktor ketika sakit ialah …
medicine from the doctor = ubat daripada doktor
Medicine the doctor gives when you are ill is a need (keperluan), because without it the illness will not heal. Health is one of the most basic needs.
Example: the fee for seeing the doctor is a need too.
Watch out: medicine is not savings and not a want; the body must have it.
Jam tangan emas yang mahal ialah …
金表 = jam tangan emas
gold watch = jam tangan emas
To tell the time, an ordinary watch or the clock on the wall is enough. An expensive gold watch is only a want (kehendak), not a need.
Example: branded sports shoes and costly toys are wants.
Watch out: expensive things are easily mistaken for needs; ask whether you can do without.
Air minuman setiap hari ialah …
daily drinking water = air minuman
Everyone must drink water every day, and we cannot live without it, so drinking water is one of the most basic needs (keperluan).
Example: the three daily meals are needs too.
Watch out: plain water is a need; fizzy drinks and bubble tea are wants.
Yang manakah patut menerima derma?
flood victims = mangsa banjir
Flood victims who have lost their homes truly need help, so they should receive a donation. A friend who wants a new bicycle has a want, and a toy shop is a business; neither is a donation target.
Example: the school holds a collection for the victims and everyone gives a little.
Watch out: a donation is not for people who want things, but for people in difficulty.
Memberi wang kepada rumah anak yatim ialah …
giving to an orphanage = beri kepada rumah anak yatim
Giving money to an orphanage helps people in need without expecting a return, so it is a donation (derma). It is not a want, because nothing is bought for yourself, and not an investment, because the money does not come back.
Example: putting part of your pocket money into a collection box is a donation too.
Watch out: donated money goes to others; invested money is still yours for the future.
Yang manakah BUKAN derma?
not a donation = bukan derma
Giving money to a person with a disability and contributing to fire victims both help people in need, so they are donations. Buying a toy for yourself serves your own want and is not a donation.
Example: for a which-is-not question, first rule out the two that are donations.
Watch out: when the question says BUKAN (not), look for the one that differs from the other two.
Mengapakah kita perlu menyimpan wang?
why save money = mengapa menyimpan
We save so that money is there when it is needed later, such as a sudden illness, books to buy, or future studies. Spending everything today is not saving, and saying money is useless is simply wrong.
Example: with RM 60 saved, you can pay to fix a bicycle tyre when it bursts.
Watch out: the purpose of saving is for later and for just in case.
Yang manakah cara menyimpan wang?
ways to save = cara menyimpan
Putting money into a savings account at the bank keeps the money for later, so it is a way of saving. Spending on snacks every day is consumption, and giving money to a friend for a toy means the money is no longer yours; neither is saving.
Example: a money box at home is a way of saving too.
Watch out: saved money must still be in your hands or your account.
Hakim menyimpan RM 2 setiap hari. Selepas 30 hari, berapakah simpanannya?
saving a little every day = simpan sedikit setiap hari
RM 2 a day for 30 days is RM 2 × 30 = RM 60. A small amount saved daily becomes a good sum in a month. RM 32 adds 2 and 30, which is wrong.
Example: RM 1 a day for 365 days gives RM 365.
Watch out: multiply the daily amount by the number of days; do not add them.
education fund = simpanan pendidikan
Money saved for future studies and left to grow over many years is an investment (pelaburan). It is not a want and not a donation.
Example: parents put a little into an education account each month to use when the child goes to university.
Watch out: the difference between an investment and ordinary savings is time; an investment is for many years.
Betul atau salah? Kita patut membeli kehendak dahulu, kemudian keperluan.
true or false = betul atau salah
Buying wants before needs is wrong (Salah). Needs are must-haves and are paid first; wants can wait. Price has nothing to do with it; even a cheap want comes after the needs.
Example: pay for lunch first, then think about stickers.
Watch out: the order is needs → savings → donation → wants.
好习惯 = tabiat yang baik
a good habit = tabiat yang baik
Saving a little every day is a good habit, so the statement is true (Betul). Even small amounts can be saved; RM 1 a day adds up over time. It is not only for people with lots of money.
Example: drop the small change you get back into the money box every day.
Watch out: saving works through persistence, not through big amounts.
overspending = belanja lebih daripada wang yang ada
Buying when the money is not enough is wrong (Salah). However pretty or cheap the item, spending must never go beyond the money you have; that is living within your means.
Example: with RM 5 and a toy costing RM 8, wait until you have saved enough.
Watch out: being pretty is a reason for wanting, never a reason for overspending.
