Banding Nombor

位数 = bilangan digit；比……大 = lebih besar daripada 比较时先数一数两个数目各有几位。位数多的数目比较大：四位数一定比三位数大，即使三位数的数字看起来很大。 例子：1 482 有四位，895 有三位 → 1 482 lebih besar daripada 895。 注意：895 的 8 虽然比 1 大，但 8 在百位，1 在千位。

number of digits = bilangan digit, greater than = lebih besar daripada First count how many digits each number has. The number with more digits is greater: a four-digit number is always greater than a three-digit number, even if the three-digit number has big digits. Example: 1 482 has four digits and 895 has three → 1 482 lebih besar daripada 895. Watch out: the 8 in 895 is bigger than 1, but it is in the hundreds place while the 1 is in the thousands place.

逐位比较 = banding mengikut nilai tempat 两个数目位数相同时，从最左边的千位开始比；千位一样，就比百位；百位也一样，再比十位，最后比个位。第一个不同的数位决定大小。 例子：3 615 和 3 580：千位都是 3，百位 6 比 5 大 → 3 615 比较大。 注意：一找到不同的数位就可以停，后面的数位不用再看。

compare by place = banding mengikut nilai tempat When two numbers have the same number of digits, start from the thousands on the left. If the thousands are the same, compare the hundreds, then the tens, then the ones. The first place that differs decides. Example: 3 615 and 3 580: both have 3 thousands; 6 hundreds is more than 5 hundreds → 3 615 is greater. Watch out: once you find a different place you can stop; the later places do not matter.

数线 = garis nombor；右边 = sebelah kanan 在数线上，越往右边的数目越大，越往左边的数目越小。所以只要看两个数目在数线上的位置，就能比较大小。 例子：4 527 在 4 523 的右边，所以 4 527 lebih besar daripada 4 523。 注意：数线上相邻的两格相差 1，数一数中间隔了几格，也能知道相差多少。

number line = garis nombor, to the right = sebelah kanan On a number line, numbers get bigger as you move to the right and smaller as you move to the left. So the position of two numbers on the line tells you which is greater. Example: 4 527 is to the right of 4 523, so 4 527 lebih besar daripada 4 523. Watch out: neighbouring marks differ by 1, so counting the marks between two numbers also shows the difference.

比……大 = lebih besar daripada；比……小 = lebih kecil daripada 同一个比较可以用两句话来说：把比较大的数目放在前面，就用 lebih besar daripada；把比较小的数目放在前面，就用 lebih kecil daripada。两句话说的是同一件事，只是出发点不同，所以两句都对。 例子：5 200 lebih besar daripada 5 020；5 020 lebih kecil daripada 5 200。 注意：daripada 后面接的是拿来比较的那个数目，千万不要把两个数目的位置放反了。

greater than = lebih besar daripada, smaller than = lebih kecil daripada One comparison can be said in two sentences. Put the greater number first with lebih besar daripada, or put the smaller number first with lebih kecil daripada. Both mean the same. Example: 5 200 lebih besar daripada 5 020; 5 020 lebih kecil daripada 5 200. Watch out: the number after daripada is the one being compared with.

比较大 = lebih besar 两个数目都是四位数，所以从千位开始逐位比较，找出第一个不同的数位，再看哪一个比较大。 例子：思考方法像这样：6 318 和 6 381 → 千位、百位相同，十位 1 比 8 小。 注意：这两个数目的数字相同，只是位置不同。

Example: think like this: 6 318 and 6 381 → the thousands and hundreds are the same, and the tens 1 is smaller than 8. Watch out: the two numbers use the same digits in different places.

完成句子 = lengkapkan ayat 要判断前面的 2 918 比后面的 2 981 大还是小，再选出正确的说法。逐位比较：千位、百位都一样，看十位。 例子：7 145 ___ 7 154 → 十位 4 比 5 小，所以填 lebih kecil daripada。 注意：句子是从前面那个数目的角度说的。

Compare place by place: the thousands and hundreds are the same, so look at the tens. Example: 7 145 ___ 7 154 → tens 4 is smaller than 5, so the answer is lebih kecil daripada. Watch out: the sentence is about the first number.

收集 = mengumpul；哪一队 = pasukan mana 这是一个生活情境：比较两队收集的罐子数量，比较多的那一队就是答案。先把两个数目逐位比较。 例子：A 班 2 410 张、B 班 2 401 张 → 十位 1 比 0 大 → A 班比较多。 注意：1 460 和 1 406 很像，要看清十位和个位。

collect = mengumpul, which team = pasukan mana This is a real-life comparison: the team with the greater number of tins is the answer. Compare the two numbers place by place. Example: class A 2 410, class B 2 401 → tens 1 is greater than 0 → class A has more. Watch out: 1 460 and 1 406 look alike, so check the tens and ones carefully.
