估计 = anggar；参照组 = set rujukan 估计就是不用一个一个数，而是拿一个已经知道数量的东西（参照组）来比较，说出大约有多少。这一课用三个说法：lebih kurang（大约）、kurang daripada（少于）、lebih daripada（多于）。例子：一样大的杯子，参照杯有 200 粒米，另一杯装的米高度只有它的一半，所以大约有 100 粒。注意：估计的答案不需要完全准确，但要合理；容器一定要一样大，比较才公平。

estimate = anggar, reference set = set rujukan To estimate, we do not count one by one. We compare with something whose amount we already know, called a reference set, and say about how many there are. We use three phrases: lebih kurang (about), kurang daripada (less than) and lebih daripada (more than). Example: two cups are the same size; the reference cup holds 200 grains of rice and the other is filled only half as high, so it has about 100 grains. Watch out: an estimate does not need to be exact, but it must be reasonable, and the containers must be the same size for a fair comparison.

大约 = lebih kurang；少于 = kurang daripada；多于 = lebih daripada 拿参照组来比：看起来和参照组的一半差不多，就说 lebih kurang 一半的数量；比参照组少，就说 kurang daripada；比参照组多，就说 lebih daripada。例子：参照盒装了 600 支冰棒棍，另一盒明显装得更满 → 那一盒 lebih daripada 600 支。注意：B 瓶比参照瓶满，就不能说 kurang daripada 1 000；先看它比参照组多还是少，再选说法。

about = lebih kurang, less than = kurang daripada, more than = lebih daripada Compare with the reference set: if it looks like about half of the reference, say lebih kurang half the amount; if it is less than the reference, say kurang daripada; if it is more, say lebih daripada. Example: a reference box holds 600 ice-cream sticks and another box is clearly fuller → that box has lebih daripada 600 sticks. Watch out: jar B is fuller than the reference jar, so it cannot be kurang daripada 1 000. First decide more or less, then choose the phrase.

Gunakan panjang rujukan

长度 = panjang；参照长度 = panjang rujukan 估计长度时，也可以用一段已知长度的东西来比较。看看要估计的东西大约是它的几分之几，或者比它长还是短。例子：一支铅笔长 15 cm，桌子的边大约是 6 支铅笔那么长 → lebih kurang 90 cm。注意：比较长度时，两样东西的一端要对齐，不然看起来长的不一定真的长。

length = panjang, reference length = panjang rujukan We can also estimate length by comparing with something whose length we know. Decide about what part of it the object is, or whether it is longer or shorter. Example: a pencil is 15 cm long and the edge of a desk is about 6 pencils long → lebih kurang 90 cm. Watch out: line up one end of both objects when comparing lengths, or the longer-looking one may not really be longer.

more than = lebih daripada, less than = kurang daripada Tin B looks fuller than the reference tin A. Choose the phrase that describes the number of coins in tin B. Example: a reference box holds 500 pens and another box holds fewer → that box has kurang daripada 500 pens. Watch out: which phrase is for more than the reference, and which is for less?

一半以上 = lebih daripada separuh（也说 lebih separuh）先算出总数的一半，把它当作参照。已完成的部分超过中间那条线，就是 lebih daripada separuh；还没到那条线，就是 kurang daripada separuh。例子：一套 3 600 张的贴纸，已贴了一大半 → 贴了 lebih daripada 1 800 张。注意：lebih separuh 不是“全部”，还有一部分没有完成，所以数量一定比总数少。

more than half = lebih daripada separuh (also lebih separuh) First work out half of the total and use it as the reference. If the finished part passes the middle line, it is lebih daripada separuh; if it has not reached the line, it is kurang daripada separuh. Example: a set of 3 600 stickers is mostly used → lebih daripada 1 800 stickers have been stuck. Watch out: lebih separuh is not all of it; some is still unfinished, so the amount is less than the total.
