最小 = paling kecil 四个数目的千位、百位都一样，所以比较十位，十位一样再比较个位，找出最小的。 例子：3 026、3 014、3 020 → 最小是 3 014。 注意：2 108 的十位是 0，2 112 的十位是 1，所以不能只看个位的 2 就说 2 112 最小。

smallest = paling kecil All four numbers have the same thousands and hundreds, so compare the tens, then the ones, to find the smallest. Example: 3 026, 3 014, 3 020 → the smallest is 3 014. Watch out: 2 108 has 0 tens while 2 112 has 1 ten, so do not pick 2 112 just because its ones digit is 2.

按一百递增 = bilang menaik seratus-seratus 每次加 100，也就是百位加 1，其他数位不变。 例子：3 210、3 310、3 410。 注意：不是十位加 1，也不是千位加 1。

count up in hundreds = bilang menaik seratus-seratus Add 100 each time, which means the hundreds digit goes up by 1 and the other places stay the same. Example: 3 210, 3 310, 3 410. Watch out: it is not the tens or the thousands that go up.

按一千递减 = bilang menurun seribu-seribu 每次减 1 000，千位减 1，百位、十位、个位不变。 例子：8 370、7 370、6 370。 注意：检查答案放进去以后，下一个数是不是也差 1 000。

count down in thousands = bilang menurun seribu-seribu Subtract 1 000 each time: the thousands digit goes down by 1 and the other places stay the same. Example: 8 370, 7 370, 6 370. Watch out: check that the next number after your answer is also 1 000 less.

按六递增 = bilang menaik enam-enam 每次都加上同样的 6，数目会越来越大。可以在数线上从 3 244 开始，一格一格往右数 6 格，停下来的地方就是答案。 例子：2 312、2 318、2 324（每次加 6）。 注意：加 6 时个位满 10 要进位，44 ＋ 6 ＝ 50，十位变成 5。

count up in sixes = bilang menaik enam-enam Add 6 each time. You can count 6 steps to the right of 3 244 on a number line. Example: 2 312, 2 318, 2 324, adding 6 each time. Watch out: when the ones pass 9, regroup into the tens: 44 + 6 = 50.

按二递减 = bilang menurun dua-dua 每次减 2，所以数目会越来越小。可以从最后一个数 7 259 开始，在心里往回数两步，就得到下一个数。 例子：3 120、3 118、3 116，每一个都比前一个少 2。 注意：答案一定要比 7 259 小 2，不能比它大。

count down in twos = bilang menurun dua-dua Subtract 2 each time, so the numbers get smaller. Example: 3 120, 3 118, 3 116. Watch out: the answer must be 2 less than 7 259.

按四递增 = bilang menaik empat-empat 每次都加上同样的 4，数目越来越大。加 4 也等于按 2 数时一次跳两步，所以可以先加 2、再加 2 来检查答案。 例子：从 6 530 按 4 数：6 534、6 538、6 542。 注意：4 196 ＋ 4 要进位到百位，变成 4 200。

count up in fours = bilang menaik empat-empat Add 4 each time; it is the same as two jumps of 2. Example: counting in fours from 6 530: 6 534, 6 538, 6 542. Watch out: 4 196 + 4 regroups all the way to the hundreds and becomes 4 200.

关系 = perkaitan 按 4 跳两步，一共加了 4 ＋ 4。算出来是多少，就等于按那个数跳一步。 例子：按 3 跳三步 → 3 ＋ 3 ＋ 3 ＝ 9 → 等于按 9 跳一步（sembilan-sembilan）。 注意：不是 4 ＋ 2，而是两个 4 相加。

relationship = perkaitan Two jumps of 4 add 4 + 4 altogether. Work out the total; that is the size of one single jump. Example: three jumps of 3 → 3 + 3 + 3 = 9 → the same as one jump of 9 (sembilan-sembilan). Watch out: it is not 4 + 2; it is two 4s added together.
